Kristin Schultes is president of MMC. She leads the financial efforts of MMC and provides leadership in all areas of the business. Kristin is passionate about process improvement through creative problem solving and teamwork. She loves how the numbers tell a story about the financial results.
Kristin earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa. She began her career in public accounting and spent time with Deloitte and Grant Thornton before joining MMC in 2008. Kristin holds an active C.P.A. license and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA), and also a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
Kristin and her husband Ben are the parents of three active boys. She enjoys spending time with her family, running, and being creative. You may find Kristin with a camera in hand. Kristin is also a professional photographer and a volunteer for a non-profit organization called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.
As executive vice president, Chad’s focus is on developing relationships with building owners, general contractors, architects and consulting engineers to provide best value mechanical solutions.
Chad graduated from the Milwaukee School of Engineering with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Engineering and an Environmental emphasis. In June of 2014 marked Chad’s 20th Anniversary of employment at MMC. Chad has had the opportunity to be a part of some very prominent projects in the region including UnitedHealth Group Headquarters, Maple Grove Hospital, St. Cloud Hospital East Addition, Fairview Maple Grove Health Campus, Target Field, Northrop Auditorium and Sanford Fargo Medical Center.
Chad was married in 1995 to his wife Patrice and they were blessed with two sons, Gunnar and Tor. They also have three dogs (Garth, Ole and Lute) and a cat (Hobo) so there is never a dull moment in the Nelson household. Chad and his family enjoy the outdoors, including camp fires, gardening, hiking, alpine skiing, fishing and upland bird hunting. "Our faith is what binds us together, gives us purpose and sets our course for life’s adventures."
As a vice president and construction executive, Tim assists our project managers in helping to provide our customers with the highest level of service possible.
Tim has worked in the mechanical business for more than 34 years. He is a graduate of Lakewood Community College and St. Paul Technical College which covered areas of heating, cooling and refrigeration. He holds master contracting licenses in high pressure steam and ammonia, hot water and low pressure steam, natural gas, oil burners and refrigeration.
Tim has been married to his wife Carole for 29 years. Together they have one daughter, Kelly. In addition to enjoying time spent with his family at their cabin and traveling for family vacations, Tim is an avid outdoorsman and big game hunting enthusiast.
Trevor McCulloch is vice president and general manager of MMC’s Commercial Service Department. Trevor provides guidance and leadership to all aspects of the service business for MMC. He is responsible for the daily operation of MMC’s large fleet of factory trained union Mechanical service plumbers and technicians. Trevor is also directly responsible for the development and management of an experienced group of service project managers and administrative personnel.
Trevor has been in the mechanical service business since he graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor Degree in Communication Studies. He has been with MMC since March of 2011. During that time Trevor has been focused on the improvement of MMC’s internal service procedures by continually implementing new construction industry technology to keep MMC on the forefront of emerging technology. Trevor believes that keeping technology current is the key to continuing to provide the peace of mind that MMC’s Service customers demand. In addition to technology being a key focus, Trevor also believes that everyone needs to be accountable for their actions while maintaining a high level of trust. If we can supply those things to our customers we can reduce critical down time and eliminate unplanned outages.
Trevor and his wife Lyn are both University of Minnesota alumni and currently have two very active young boys, Wallace and Owen. He can usually be found with his two boys in the outdoors hunting or fishing. Trevor and Lyn enjoy cheering on the Golden Gophers in just about any sport.
Matt graduated from Iowa State University with degrees in Marketing and International Business. He has successfully completed many complex integration projects over the last six years focusing on building automation, enterprise systems integration and energy services within the healthcare, mission critical/laboratory and industrial markets. His knowledge of preconstruction, design, estimating and systems integration brings value to evaluating total building systems performance, cost and interoperability.
Matt and his wife Bethany have one daughter. He enjoys spending quality time with his family, attending concerts and live performances, outdoor activities and home brewing.
Mike Danelius manages MMC’s Virtual Building Systems (VBS) Group. He ensures the VBS deliverables are of the highest quality and takes pride the quality of work that he and his team.
Mike is a 1983 graduate of Dunwoody College. He has been with MMC coordinating projects and leading the VBS team for over 30 years. He helped develop MMC’s in-house 3D VBS add-on software that was utilized for 10 plus years. Mike also has worked and assisted in the design and coordination of some very specialized and challenging projects, including four that were installed overseas. Mike holds many specialty licenses and Autodesk certifications.
Mike, along with his lovely bride of 32 years and their daughter all love traveling, and being up north enjoying the outdoors, being on the water, fishing, ATV’s, and exploring. He has many hobbies including racing dirt bikes and scuba diving. Mike is also involved in his community as a Lions Club member and has helped on Habitat for Humanity projects.
Bill Hicks brings 30+ years of mechanical design experience to the Design Group at MMC. He is a professional engineer registered in the state of Minnesota. In addition, Bill is LEED Certified. Bill’s past experiences range from Project Management to complete system design and engineering. His capabilities and past experiences in the mechanical contracting field are enhanced and supported by other members of the Design Group within MMC.
The concept of “due diligence” is the overriding directive within MMC’s Design Group. Performing above expectations at the front end of a design project ensures a successful and appropriate system design.
As the construction field superintendent with MMC, Gene works closely with our project managers, assistant project managers, field foreman, fab shop foreman and safety department to maintain a productive and safe field staff on all of our projects.
Gene has been with MMC for 28 years and has had many different roles. Gene joined MMC as a journeyman pipefitter welder and has been project foreman, general foreman, small projects pipefitter superintendent, and construction pipefitter superintendent before being placed in his current position in charge of the manpower for the pipefitting, sheet metal, and plumbing construction departments.
Gene and his wife Ronda have raised two children and are empty nesters that enjoy motorcycling, boating, fishing, going to the gym, and traveling.
Dan Pothen is the safety director for MMC. He works with all divisions of the MMC Company to control risk and ensure safe work sites. He is involved from the early stages of the project all the way thru completion.
Dan has been in the safety field since 1989 and has worked for MMC the last 6 years. He has vast experience in industrial, commercial and residential construction areas. He is also an OSHA certified outreach trainer and likes the challenge of working with a variety of different clients and owners to provide a safe workplace for everyone.
Dan and his wife Julie have two children, Zach and Amanda. He enjoys spending time with his family and volunteering with the children’s activities. The family also likes to travel and always looks forward to their yearly vacation at a cabin in Hayward, WI.
